Why jurisdiction matters
Financial services are regulated differently in every country, and a provider authorised for a service in one jurisdiction may not be authorised for the same service in another. GEF does not operate a one-size-fits-all global offering — every product is subject to applicable law, provider licensing, customer eligibility, sanctions requirements, identity verification and local market restrictions.
How GEF determines availability
Before a product is activated in a jurisdiction, GEF reviews whether a Licensed Partner can actually support it there, the applicable regulatory position and licensing requirements, operational factors such as KYC/AML and banking, payment and currency support, and financial-crime, fraud, political and partner risk. Only once these checks are complete is a product switched on for that jurisdiction.
Current availability
Australia, New Zealand, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Vanuatu and Panama are all currently shown as Pending Verification across Banking, Payments, Cards, Crypto, Investments, Business and Private categories — meaning provider agreements, licensing checks or onboarding are not yet finalised for any of them. A country moves to Available only once a provider, licence and jurisdictional review have all been confirmed for that specific product.
Status definitions
Available means a product has an approved Licensed Partner and has completed regulatory and operational review for that jurisdiction. Unavailable means the product is not offered there, for regulatory, partner, sanctions or commercial reasons. Pending Verification means a product may become available but provider agreements, licensing checks or onboarding are not yet complete. Restricted means a product is limited to specific customer categories, such as accredited investors or institutional clients.
Product categories
Availability is tracked separately for Banking, Payments, Cards, Crypto, Investments, Business and Private services, since a partner or licence covering one category does not automatically cover another — see Licensed Partners for what each category actually involves.
Provider mapping
Each available product will be mapped to its specific provider, jurisdiction, licence or registration and GEF's role once that information is verified; a product will not be activated for a jurisdiction until this mapping is confirmed.
Restricted jurisdictions
GEF may restrict access to products in jurisdictions subject to sanctions, elevated financial-crime risk, or that a Licensed Partner is unable or unwilling to service, and may modify availability at any time in response to regulatory, legal or risk considerations.
Changes to availability
Jurisdiction availability can change without notice due to law, regulation, provider requirements, sanctions obligations or operational considerations, so customers should check current availability before applying for a product rather than relying on an earlier visit to this page.
